The Computer Science Summit is UP CURSOR’s flagship event, where we aim to connect, educate, and inspire the next generation of computer scientists. Through exciting breakout sessions, talks, and other activities, participants will gain valuable insights into various branches of the Computer Science career path while forming bonds and networking with numerous future colleagues and influential companies in the industry.
This online event offers breakout sessions on some of the most relevant topics in Computer Science today such as Artificial Intelligence, Bioinformatics, Blockchain, Game Development, Robotics, and many more. We aim to leverage these technologies to build practical solutions to our nations problems and build towards the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).
In line with this philosophy and the current issues in the Philippines, all proceeds from CSS 5.0 will be donated to the Save Our Schools Network, an organization fighting for children’s right to education.

ABOUT THE COMPUTER SCIENCE SUMMIT
The Computer Science Summit (CSS) 5.0 will be a weeklong online tech event, and ideathon targeted, but not limited to, Computer Science and IT college students and young professionals. It aims to serve as the pioneer avenue for collaboration among the students where they can engage in healthy discourse and build new connections. The event, to be held this January 2021, will bring together Computer Scientists from various universities aiming for the development of a better nation through technology.

This year’s Ideathon focuses on brainstorming topical solutions to national and even global issues. Newfound knowledge from the CSS 5.0 Breakout Sessions, talks, and activities will be instrumental in coming up with innovative solutions. The Ideathon topics include: Environment, Economy, Health & Nutrition, and Education & Social Awareness.

All profits earned from the event will be used to support our beneficiary: Save Our Schools Network, in this time of need. The Save our Schools Network is a network of child rights advocates, organizations and various stakeholders working together to bring light and take action on the ongoing violation of children’s right to education, particularly those in the context of militarization and attacks on schools.
The Save Our Schools (SOS) Network makes use of all donations to bridge the education gap and provide assistance for Lumad schools in Mindanao through provision of legal and paralegal, technical and logistical, and campaign support for them. From facilitating dialogues with concerned government units, hosting donation and relief drives for Lumad communities, to running local and international campaigns raising public awareness for the plight of indigenous peoples in Mindanao, Save Our Schools Network is constantly affecting change and fighting for children’s right to education.
